Banka Slovenije donations in 2020

Banka Slovenije uses donations to support activities that make a significant contribution to the realisation of its objectives and mandate as set out by law and by the Statute of the ESCB and of the ECB. Within this context, it particularly supports educational, scientific and research activities that help to spread expertise in subjects related to the work and objectives of Banka Slovenije, and also provides support to help include children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds in education and extracurricular activities. To this end, on 24 April 2020 it published its invitation to apply for Banka Slovenije donations in 2020, on which basis it has awarded donations to the following beneficiaries:

  1. the Bank Association of Slovenia, for promoting quality in professional education and publications in the financial realm, in the amount of €10,120
  2. MIPOR, for informing, advising and educating the public about their rights and about the latest developments in financial services offered by banks, in the amount of €44,750
  3. the Numismatic Society of Slovenia, for spreading the culture of coin collecting, showcasing the importance of money and raising the profile of Slovenian commemorative coins, in the amount of €3,500
  4. GS1 for providing training and professional workshops on the use and implementation of the GS1 standards and recommendations in cash-in-transit processes, and for creating the GLN register, in the amount of €5,500
  5. Slovene Philanthropy (donation of used computers to help provide students with the equipment needed for remote learning)
