Results of tender for designing drafts of occasional coins to be issued in 2023
On September 30 2022 Banka Slovenije published a tender for designing drafts of occasional coins to be issued in 2023. Tender was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 125/22 and on the Banka Slovenije's web page. By the end of the tender on November 14 2022 we received 20 drafts for commemorative coin to mark 150th anniversary of the birth of Josip Plemelj, 17 drafts for collector coins to mark 110th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian writer Boris Pahor and 8 drafts for collector coins to mark national holiday, the Day of Slovenian Sport.
The Commission for issuing occasional coins, established by the Banka Slovenije and Ministry of finance, decided to award the following drafts for designing commemorative coin to mark 150th anniversary of the birth of Josip Plemelj:
- prize (€4.000) for draft with code 6287 – author: Studio Čuk, Jasna Čuk Kolavčič s.p.;
- prize (€2.000) for draft with code OMH32H – authors: Mojca Mlinar and Dominik Košak;
- prize (€1.300) for draft with code PKT0101: authors: Mojca Mlinar and Dominik Košak.
For collector coins to mark 110th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian writer Boris Pahor the following drafts are awarded:
- prize (€3.000) for draft with code S19V1E3 – authors: Danela Vidmar Podboj in Tomaž Podboj;
- prize (€1.500) for draft with code 65323 – author: Edi Berk;
- prize (€1.000) for draft with code 19-BREZMEJNI-13 – author: Tim Topić.
For collector coins to mark national holiday, the Day of Slovenian Sport, the following drafts are awarded:
- prize (€3.000) for draft with code V3STRE – author: Tevž Zrinski;
- prize (€1.500) for draft with code 782394 – author: Edi Berk;
- prize (€1.000) for draft with code 2265 – author: Robert Žvokelj.
Occasional coins are expected to be minted based on the drafts awarded with first prize. The Government of Slovenia will make the final approval of the draft on which occasional coins will be minted.
