Payment services and electronic money

Payment services are defined by the Directive on payment services in the internal market, the purpose of which is to standardise the legal framework for payments inside the European Union, and the Payment Services, Services of Issuing Electronic Money and Payment Systems Act (in Slovene), which transposes the directive into the Slovenian legal system.

Electronic money is defined in the Payment Services, Services of Issuing Electronic Money and Payment Systems Act, which also transposes the Directive on the taking up, pursuit and prudential supervision of the business of electronic money institutions into Slovenian legislation.
