Results of tender for designing drafts of occasional coins to be issued in 2024

On April 7 2023 Banka Slovenije published a tender for designing drafts of occasional coins to be issued in 2024. Tender was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 42/23 and on the Banka Slovenije's web page. By the end of the tender on May 22 2023 we received 32 drafts for commemorative coin to mark 250th anniversary of the National and university library and 14 drafts for collector coins to mark 150th anniversary of Rudolf Maister’s birth.

The Commission for issuing occasional coins, established by the Banka Slovenije and Ministry of finance, decided to award the following drafts for designing commemorative coin to mark 250th anniversary of the National and university library:

  1. prize (€4.000) for draft with code F3758F – authors: Mojca Mlinar and Dominik Košak;
  2. prize (€2.000)  for draft with code 2525 – authors: Jasna Čuk Kolavčič and Mirjam Birsa;
  3. prize (€1.300) for draft with code 811065 – authors: Neža Novak and Luka Novak.

For collector coins to mark 150th anniversary of Rudolf Maister’s birth the following drafts are awarded:

  1. prize (€4.000) for draft with code 382716 – author: Edi Berk;
  2. prize (€2.000) for draft with code PV-321 – author: Andrej Žerovnik;
  3. prize (€1.300) for draft with code ERGM01 – avtorja: Mojca Mlinar in Dominik Košak.

Occasional coins are expected to be minted based on the drafts awarded with first prize. The Government of Slovenia will make the final approval of the draft on which occasional coins will be minted.
