Bank of Slovenia withdraws lawsuits

05/30/2018 / Press release

Having regard for the judgments of the constitutional court in cases U-I-157/16, Up-729/16 and Up-55/17, the Bank of Slovenia also resolved to withdraw other legal remedies that it had filed with the administrative court and the constitutional court in connection with police investigations and the admission of documentation in parliamentary investigations. In proceedings before the constitutional court the Bank of Slovenia argued the position that its rights were not being adequately protected in criminal proceedings. The constitutional court found the Bank of Slovenia to be ineligible as a holder of the constitutional rights that it was claiming in the proceedings.

In the assessment of the Bank of Slovenia, the constitutional court judgments and the withdrawal of legal remedies could contribute to the faster resolution of unresolved issues in police investigation procedures, and thereby to faster progress in the aforementioned procedures.
