New price comparison website for payment service fees
On 1 November 2018 the Bank of Slovenia set up a free price comparison website giving an overview of fees for payment services recognised at EU level as representative services linked to a payment account.
Since 2007 the Bank of Slovenia has collected and published information on the fees that payment service providers established in Slovenia charge users for the provision of payment services in Slovenia. By setting up the new price comparison site, which gives an overview of fees for representative services, the Bank of Slovenia is making it easier for consumers to compare the fees for representative services at the EU level in accordance with Directive 2014/92/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 on the comparability of fees related to payment accounts, payment account switching and access to payment accounts with basic features and the Payment Services, Electronic Money Issuance Services and Payment Systems Act. All other supervisory authorities in all EU Member States are also required to publish fees for representative services, which make it simpler for consumers to review and compare fees between payment service providers at the EU level.
