Presentation of IMF findings at close of consultations in Slovenia
Today saw the close of the Article IV consultations with the IMF mission in Slovenia. The purpose of the consultations on this occasion was to review the latest economic developments, the functioning of the financial sector and the banking system, and the challenges for the future. The findings were presented at today’s press conference.
During the consultations the IMF delegation headed by Donal McGettigan met representatives of Banka Slovenije, the Ministry of Finance, other ministries, the IMAD, the Fiscal Council, the BAMC, the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the PDII, the National Assembly, the Bank Association of Slovenia, and selected commercial banks and trade unions, and also met representatives of firms in the tourism sector.
The mission report for Slovenia under Article IV will be discussed by the IMF’s Executive Board in the coming months. This will bring a formal end to the Article IV consultations with Slovenia.
The closing findings were presented by Donal McGettigan, the mission chief, with additional comments from Klemen Boštjančič, the finance minister, and Boštjan Vasle, Governor of Banka Slovenije.
