IMF Staff Report in the context of the 2012 Article IV consultation with Slovenia

The IMF team visited Slovenia from 20 September to 2 October 2012.

Under Article IV of the IMF’s Articles of Agreement, the IMF holds bilateral discussions with members, usually annually. During these consultations assessment of economic and financial developments and discussions on country's economic and financial policies take place. The IMF follows the principle of transparency concerning the publication of all relevant information on member countries that would be of interest to the public. In accordance with this principle the IMF, after the Executive Board discussions of Article IV consultations with member countries, publishes relevant reports and recommendations that are followed up by individual member countries.

During its visit to Slovenia the IMF team held discussions with the representatives of the Bank of Slovenia, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, the National Assembly, banking sector, trade unions and other relevant bodies and institutions (commercial sector, academics etc.).

On 21 November 2012 the IMF Executive Board concluded the 2012 Article IV consultations with Slovenia.
