Annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund in Istanbul

Marko Kranjec, the Governor of the Bank of Slovenia, will attend the Annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Istanbul from 4 to 6 October 2009. Among the main topics to be discussed at the meeting of the IMF’s Monetary and Financial Committee, which Governor Kranjec will attend, will be developments in the global economy and on the international financial markets, and outlook of future developments and possible policy responses. The agenda also includes topics linked to IMF governance reform and the question of its role in the implementation of the supervisory function. 

In Istanbul, Governor Kranjec will attend the plenary session of the IMF and World Bank and participate in a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of international financial and banking institutions.
